About Psycho Therapy Clothing

Psycho Therapy Clothing is the brainchild of New York based filmmaker Keith Knight. As a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), he worked on films with stars like Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Steve Martin, Anthony Hopkins, Goldie Hawn, Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Knight then went on to form a production company and began working on documentary films. However things went astray after he spent a year working as executive producer and segment director on a documentary film. Due to last minute contractual problems the whole project was indefinately put on hold and no one was paid. This and getting dumped by his girlfriend lead him to "lose his mind."

Looking for answers, he decided to undergo psychotherapy for the first time. During the process he came up with the idea for people to literally "wear their problems on their sleeve." Knight then decided to form a company that would make shirts so that people could express to the world their individual neuroses. He believes that by empowering people to effectively respond to the question "what’s wrong with you," they are better able to come to terms with who they are and who they hope to be.

The Psycho Therapy Clothing line has since branched out to include a line of Social Therapy shirts that deal with social, political and sexual issues.
